Manufacturing and Operation of Our Automatons

What is the benefit of installing automatons in a storefront?

The realism and beauty of our automatons bring joy to both adults and children in all the places where they are installed. They pique the curiosity of your customers and passersby, helping to increase your revenue. Throughout the year, you can harness the power of animated marketing to boost your business development.

What is the lifespan of an automaton ?

More than 10 years! Our automatons are handcrafted in our workshops in Normandy. We use quality materials and reliable technology (electric motors, crankshaft systems). Our artisans take great care to ensure that the automatons last as long as possible. Meet our team.

What happens if my automaton breaks down ?

It's rare, but it can happen. If your automaton malfunctions, you can return it to us in its original crate or transport box. In some cases, transportation costs will be covered by us. The automaton will be completely disassembled, inspected, and restored before being returned to you. A replacement automaton can be sent if needed. Can I animate my storefront at times other than the holiday season?

It's true that our automatons are in high demand during the Christmas season. However, it's also possible to animate your storefront during other times, such as to celebrate the arrival of spring or summer, Easter with a rabbit, or Halloween with a witch. Is it easy to install an automaton in my storefront?

Yes ! All our automatons simply plug into a standard electrical outlet with a grounding plug. They are designed to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their power consumption is very low and does not require any special equipment. You can also connect them to a timer if you prefer.

How much energy does an automaton consume ?

For a medium-sized automaton (like Leo and Leon bears), average use over 12 hours of decoration will consume about 120 watts, which is equivalent to 2 to 2.5 cents over 12 hours, similar to the consumption of a 10-watt LED light bulb.

I'm not in France; will the automaton work correctly ?

Absolutely. We export our automatons worldwide and adapt our mechanisms and electrical connections according to the standards and regulations in force in your country (voltage, power plug).

How and where are the automatons manufactured ?

Founded nearly 30 years ago by Michel Taillis, our company has a unique expertise that radiates in France and across five continents. The high-quality faux fur is imported from Korea. Assembly of the metal framework, automation adjustment, plush envelope creation, stuffing, packaging in transport crates... Everything is done in our workshop located in Tôtes, in the heart of Normandy, between Rouen and Dieppe. Meet our team.

Do you manufacture custom automatons ?

If you can't find what you're looking for among the hundreds of items we offer for sale or rent, it is indeed possible to create the automaton of your dreams. Do your automatons work outdoors?

Michel Taillis automatons are designed for indoor use. However, they can function outdoors as long as they are well sheltered from moisture (rain and snow). We also offer automatons protected by "soft and transparent plastic domes" for sale; they can be installed outdoors and operate in all weather conditions on a public square, pedestrian street, or at the entrance of a Christmas market.

Is it possible to see your automatons "in person" ?

You can visit us at the trade shows we regularly participate in: Maison & Objet Paris-Villepinte/France (January & September sessions), ChristmasWorld Frankfurt/Germany (January), Euroshop Düsseldorf/Germany (February). We would also be delighted to welcome you to Tôtes to tour our workshop and showcase various models (by appointment at 0235326954).

Is it possible to rent an automaton instead of buying it ?

Yes, we offer several hundred automatons for rent, with a minimum rental period of 6 weeks during the holiday season and shorter periods throughout the rest of the year. Each automaton is delivered and returned in a wooden crate. Rental is a budget-friendly option to delight your customers with our original creations. Check out the automatons available for rent.

I'm not in France; can I rent an automaton ?

Unfortunately, not at the moment. Our rental offer is reserved for customers located in metropolitan France. Leave us your contact information, and we will contact you when this offer becomes available to our customers. Check out the automatons available for purchase.

What are the manufacturing and delivery times?

If the automaton you desire is available in our stock (as indicated on the website), delivery is typically made within a week depending on your country of residence. If we need to manufacture it upon order, it may take an additional one to six weeks.

In all cases, we will confirm the manufacturing lead times with you.

When should I place an order to ensure I have an automaton in my storefront for Christmas ?

The holiday season is particularly busy, and we receive many requests. Whenever possible, we recommend placing your order or rental in advance. Placing an order in September or earlier will ensure you have your automaton in time for Christmas.

Can I pay online directly ?

Yes, we use the secure online payment solution provided by Crédit Agricole. You can pay by credit card (CB, VISA, MasterCard, American Express...) or through your PayPal account.

Could the automaton be damaged during transport ?

Our automatons are delivered in custom-made transport crates for rentals and in cardboard boxes for purchases. In both cases, our products are securely packed and protected, and we work with professional delivery companies. They should arrive at their destination in perfect condition.
